I always were wondering why someone would make a game this dark. I can understand that it is by intention because of reasons, but I personally even nearly would not have bought this game just because of its (imo bad) graphics.
So I modified the terrain with paint.net in a hour and came up with this. If you are the same opinion, you now have a chance of a very friendly looking Factorio.

Just download the rar and rename the old terrain folder for recovery reasons in the graphics directory of Factorio and extract the new terrain folder at it’s place…

This mod will create power lines between most of the base game’s entities that require power.

  • Creates an invisible power pole under most power requiring entities
  • The invisible power poles function just like normal power poles
  • Manual or Automatic modes
  • Manual mode requires a special entity be made for each machine
  • Automatic mode just functions as soon as the research is completed (NOTE: there is a slight lag when the technology is completed, depending on map size and computer)

This mod adds one new item, the belt combinator. Place the combinator adjacent to a belt and any items “downstream” from the combinator will be tallied and provided to the circuit network. Belts pointing away from the combinator will count both lanes, belts running alongside the combinator will count just one lane. Either way, the counting will follow the normal path of items through the belt network, which means following just one lane after side loading, both lanes after mixing, etc.
